For some time now I have wanted to do a personal project on US RT 50, but the fact is my personal and commercial life are blessedly very busy. Taking a trip and documentary of that scale is just a little out of reach right now. So I asked myself what’s the next best thing. Turns out for me the next best thing is right in my backyard and part of it only minutes from my house making access easy. Let’s scale RT 50 down to this interesting little road US RT 11 here in Virginia that seemed way more doable, and I have a small body of work already in my archives to get me on the move. About Kevin

I am a pretty simple guy bellow is my basic story. Currently I spend most of my days working on commercial projects for clients and along with my wife as owner of The Blackburn Gallery and the galleries primary artist. The gallery is located in Nellysford Va and is our base of operations as they say.

Starting with small 110 and 410 cameras as a boy then the gift of a Yashica 35mm at age twelve. I have been fascinated with photography and the photographic c process. After studying in traditional arts in High school and College and working as a photojournalist and commercial photographer for more than 14 years I am more in love with my craft than ever before. I am fascinated with the possibilities that lay before me in the digital age and just what can be created to truly share my vision. My current visions are leading down the path to a created image some create in camera using traditional photographic methods others created in the digital darkroom.
I am lucky to have my artwork hang in such commercial venues as, The University of Virginia Hospital, UVA Physicians Group Offices, Augusta Health, Lumos Networks Global Headquarters, Dupont Community Credit Union,Rockingham Memorial Hospital, First Bank and Trust. And countless private collections
