For some time now I have wanted to do a personal project on US RT 50, but the fact is my personal and commercial life are blessedly very busy. Taking a trip and documentary of that scale is just a little out of reach right now. So I asked myself what’s the next best thing. Turns out for me the next best thing is right in my backyard and part of it only minutes from my house making access easy. Let’s scale RT 50 down to this interesting little road US RT 11 here in Virginia that seemed way more doable, and I have a small body of work already in my archives to get me on the move. Ox-Eye Vineyards

So whether your a wine aficionado or really just love wine tasting like Carrie and myself  well RT 11 Virginia is a treasure chest of great tasting opportunities. This will no doubt be the first of a number of Winery/Vineyard post here on the RT 11 site.

Back in January 2017 Carrie and I had a rare free day off and went local to where we live. We hit Downtown Staunton First and headed straight to Ox Eye Vineyards Tasting room and wow what a hidden in plain sight treasure. We not only had great wine and a great time talking to the owner but There is art here that I would love to have in my home or in my own Art Gallery The Blackburn Gallery.

This tasting room is in a great historic town but in a great historic building right at the end of the area called the warf in Staunton . So if your looking for great local taste and great local and regional Art and you happen to be in Staunton Virginia you have to go and enjoy this little treasure.
